Stephen Gilligan PhD, has become a leading figure in Ericksonian hypnotherapy. He is the developer of the Generative Self approach to personal growth. A licensed psychologist, Stephen maintains a private practice in Encinitas, California.

Critically acclaimed from 1968 to the present time, guitarist Gordon Giltrap has released 22 albums plus numerous compilations. He has collaborated with such diverse names as the London Symphony Orchestra, Brian May, Midge Ure and Cliff Richard.

Sharon has been teaching and training for 30 years. She provides workshops, courses, demonstrations and presentations to primary schools around the world, encouraging them to adopt creative approaches to the curriculum.

In particular, she promotes stories as contexts for deep, cross-curricular learning. By using dramatic scenarios, with teachers and students working together in role, levels of engagement, enquiry and independence increase. Children become driven to research, think, collaborate, read and write as they excitedly seek to resolve dilemmas. Her work is rich in literacy and is regarded as providing a lively and essential complement to the more technical approaches that abound.

Currently keeping her feet on the ground by working as Subject Leader for the Arts within Stoke-on-Trent's Adult and Community Education Service, and by teaching in local primary schools, Sharon has in the past been an Advisory Teacher for Drama in Birmingham, a Senior Further Education Staff Development Co-ordinator, a national Inclusion Adviser and an Associate Tutor of the University of Cumbria. In all her roles, across all phases of education, Sharon seeks to demonstrate the power of the creative process in raising achievement for all.

Her freelance work has taken her to China, Peru, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand and Austria. She emphasises pedagogy that transcends cultures and ethnicities because it is rooted in universal aspects of human nature: curiosity; creativity; the love of fiction; the desire to play; along with the instinct to solve problems and rise to challenges.

Two cats, a dog, a grandchild, a love of films, a passion for sci-fi and sneaking off to make her own art whenever she can, keep Sharon busy.

Paul was one of the UK's oldest-established independent trainers, having started down that path in 1992. He worked in over 4500 primary, secondary and special schools in the UK and in 70 or so international schools in the Middle East, Far East, North and South America, The Caribbean and Europe. He also supported the introduction of a new Junior Cycle curriculum in Ireland. All his ideas were forged at the chalkface but they were inspired by some of the world's leading educational thinkers.

First and foremost, Paul was a practitioner (having started his teaching career in 1979), not a researcher or academic. He sought to model the way in which current teaching imperatives and modern learning insights could be translated into workable classroom strategies, and to achieve that with a bit of fun along the way.

Even in an aggressive educational world driven by political, inspection and PISA priorities, he believed that it was possible to proceed with integrity, courage and wisdom. To do so, teachers needed a few truths about the learning process to guide their creative planning and a good number of proven strategies to set them on their way. From his books and workshops Paul wanted people to take away teaching ideas that would turn passive pupils into active students and consequently result in deep learning, modern skills, essential dispositions, good progress and great results.

Of his many publications, The Teacher's Toolkit is the most well-known, having been reprinted 15 times and translated into Arabic, Indonesian, Hungarian, Slovenian and Spanish. It is one of the UK's bestselling books for teachers and is required reading on most teacher training courses.



Paul died suddenly on 30th January 2015. He had three grown-up children and was a Stoke City FC season ticket holder and a self-confessed vinyl junkie. He was also a driver and roadie for The Zombies on their 2009 Odessey and Oracle' national tour - making his adolescent rock n' roll dream come true! He lived near Stoke-on Trent with his wife Sharon, two cats, one dog and a jukebox.

Vic Goddard is the Principal of Passmores Academy and star of the BAFTA nominated Channel 4 documentary Educating Essex. He is a proud South Londoner, having been raised on a council estate then going on to train as a PE teacher and eventually becoming the nation's best-loved Headmaster thanks to his undeniable dedication to his school and the young people inside it.

Seth Godin is the author of 19 international bestsellers that have been translated into 35 languages. He's the founder of several companies, a member of the Direct Marketing Hall of Fame and an influential speaker around the world. Currently researching a PhD, psychologist Martin Goodyer has a fascinating and unique background. Katy Granville-Chapman, DPhil is a Teaching Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Department of Education, an Associate Fellow at the Oxford Character Project, and a Senior Fellow of the Community of Practice of the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University. Katy completed a doctorate at Oxford University and her thesis explored how leaders could improve flourishing. Katy served in the British Army as both a troop commander and an education officer, a role in which she set up the education provision for British soldiers in Iraq and delivered leadership training to them. Katy is the co-founder of a global leadership programme for young people that has participants in 105 countries.

Annie Greeff started her career as a teacher, but also gained experience in various other fields. In 1996 she became a Training and Development Consultant and went on to develop and present extensive ranges of Emotional Intelligence and Resilience or Wellness training programmes, facilitated group processes and offered life coaching for executives in various corporate companies.

Catrin Green has always loved science and loved sharing that passion. She has been a head of science and now, as a deputy head, works in a school where the science department is at the forefront of teaching and learning. She is a Teach First Ambassador, and runs science CPD as part of an academy chain.

Andy Griffith has a proven track record for creating high impact training courses and interventions with students, teachers and leaders. Dr Russell Grigg was previously an associate professor at the Wales Centre for Equity in Education, and has extensive experience in teacher training and has written many books and articles on the subject of primary education. Since 2018, Russell has been working as an education inspector for the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.

Co-developer of NLP John Grinder has been teaching and training in the field for over 30 years. His books include the classic The Structure of Magic Volumes I & II and Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H. Erickson, Volumes I & II (with Richard Bandler), and more recently Whispering in the Wind (with Carmen Bostic St. Clair). John now teaches New Code NLP, developed originally with Judith Delozier and more recently with Carmen Bostic St Clair. The New Code streamlines and brings significant enhancements to the now thirty year old Classic Code of NLP. John makes his home in the Santa Cruz mountains of central California and his passions include acquisition of foreign languages (he's presenting working on the 9th one), training and riding Arabian horses, and rock and ice climbing.

Malcolm Groves is a co-founder and managing director of Schools of Tomorrow. He has over 40 years' experience in education, encompassing primary and secondary phases, youth work, and adult education. He has been an Ofsted inspector, local authority inspector, school improvement partner, NPQH assessor, and national adviser to SSAT. Malcolm has a doctorate in school leadership from the University of Warwick.

John H. Edgette, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist in private practice in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He is a Co-Director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of Philadelphia and is co-author of the bestselling The Handbook of Hypnotic Phenomena in Psychotherapy. John also travels internationally giving highly acclaimed seminars on sport psychology to both therapists and athletes.

Gerald Haigh  had a long and varied career in education. He was a teacher for 30 years, 11 of them as a middle school head and was also a governor and an external examiner for two teacher training establishments. He wrote about education throughout his career, as the author of various books and in the Times Educational Supplement. In Good Ideas For Good Teachers Who Want Good Jobs  he shared everything he learnt about jobs and interviews, helping good teachers to get the jobs they want.

Jay Haley studied with Dr. Erickson for 17 years. He was a major editor of Erickson's works and authored many books about him. Mr. Haley was a professor at Stanford University, Howard University, the University of Maryland, and California School of Professional Psychology.

Tim Hallbom is an international trainer author, and developer in the field of NLP. He is a co-author of a number of books, including NLP: The New Technology of Achievement, Innovations in NLP, Your Mind Power, and Coaching in the Workplace, a comprehensive coaching guide for managers. He is also the author or co-author of several DVD programs, including The Early days of NLP with Robert Dilts, Journey into Beliefs with Robert Dilts and Kris Hallbom, The Dynamic Spin ReleaseTM, and The WealthyMindTM with Kris Hallbom.

Tim has contributed a huge body of knowledge to the field of NLP. He has refined and championed such processes as re-imprinting, integrating conflicting beliefs and new ways to use eye-accessing cues. As an NLP trainer and modeler, he has developed a number of popular NLP techniques, including ones for changing limiting beliefs, working with double binds and working with health related issues. He was recently made an International Diplomate in Coaching by the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine as a result of his contributions to the field of coaching..

In 1992, Tim co-created the 'Graduate School- of NLP with Robert Dilts and Suzi Smith - the Health Certification Training Program, which is considered to be one of the most advanced NLP training programs. He and his wife Kris are also the co-developers of the WealthyMindâ„¢ program, which has been taught in over 20 countries around the world to date. Moreover, Tim has made many contributions in the field of Professional Coaching. His NLP Coach Certification program was the first based in NLP in North America to be approved by the International Coach Federation. His most recent book, Coaching in the Workplace, Tim is also well known at some of the best and most recognized NLP institutes around the globe, including International Teaching Seminars (ITS) in London, The Institute for Eclectic Psychology (IEP) and the Coaching Plaza in the Netherlands; CMPNL in Mexico, and lots of others. He taught for years at NLP University with Robert Dilts and NLP Comprehensive with Steve and Connirae Andreas. Throughout his career as an NLP master trainer, Tim has trained thousands of highly effective NLPers, who are making their mark in the world.

Tim's own institute, which he runs with his wife and partner Kris, is the NLP and Coaching Institute of California. An internationally recognized institute, NLPCA is known for its quality of training and high integrity. As a master NLP trainer, Tim has also organized and taught over 60 NLP Practitioner Trainings at his own institutes He and his wife Kris have developed a very useful set of approaches to change called Dynamic Spin Release, which they began developing in 2008 and is now being taught around the world. An introduction to the process is also now available on DVD. They are also working on a new book that describes clear and consistent ways to identify and change limiting beliefs. In November of 2009, they both were keynote speakers at the International NLP Conference in London on Dynamic Spin Releaseâ„¢.

Tim's NLP history includes:
• Learning NLP in the early 80s from both Richard Bandler and John Grinder.
• Tim was the President of the National Association of NLP in 1990, which later became the International Association for NLP.
• He co-founded and was the President of the International Institute for the Advanced Studies in Health (IASH) with Robert Dilts and Suzi Smith, where today he an advisor.
• He co-founded Anchorpoint Institute with Suzi Smith, where in addition to doing training programs, he published Anchor Point NLP Journal ' which was the most widely read NLP publication in the world at that time; it was delivered to more than 30 countries!
• Tim was also a licensed psychotherapist from 1978-1999, when he began an active coach practice that he still maintains. He still offers breakthrough sessions to individuals by application.

Roger Hambleton had experience as both a prosecutor and defender in criminal cases as well as in civil law. He held a Bachelor's degree in psychology and criminology in addition to a Master of Laws degree. For his work on hypnosis he was awarded an MPhil research degree by Manchester Metropolitan University. He also held an advanced practitioner of clinical hypnotherapy diploma, retiring as a senior partner of a British firm of solicitors.

Margot Hamblett was also an NLP trainer, co-developer of the Transforming Communication Seminar with Richard and his life partner, until her recent death.
