Use and Collection of Personal Data
In general you can visit our website without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. If, however, you use our site to place an order you will be asked to provide certain information about yourself. We will store this information and hold it on computer or otherwise. This information will be used only in accordance with our duties under the Data Protection Act 1988. Your name, address and contact details will be processed to register you with our website and to administer it and for the purposes of providing you with the goods you ordered. Your details may be kept for a period (updated as appropriate) to enable us to carry out any further orders you may make more expediently. We may also use information that you provide for assessment and analysis, e.g. marketing, customer and product analysis, to enable us to review, develop and improve our services. Although your name and address are never released to anyone outside Crown House Publishing Limited we do occasionally carry out mailings on behalf of other organisations when we believe the product or service they are offering could be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive such mailings please indicate in the tick box on the order screen and we will amend our records accordingly.
Some of our cookies are used to simply collect information about how visitors use our website and these types of cookie collect the information in an anonymous form.
To find out more about cookies, including seeing what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
If you do not wish to accept cookies from our website, please leave immediately and then delete and block all cookies. Alternatively, you may opt out of receiving information from us by e-mail, telephone, fax or post.
We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any data that you disclose online and we will not be responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to our negligence or wilful default.
Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you have the right to request copies of any information we may hold on you (a small fee of £10 may be charged) and to request that we correct, update or destroy any such information. Any request should be sent to Crown House Publishing Ltd, Crown Buildings, Bancyfelin, Carmarthen SA33 5ND.
We operate a “no quibble” returns policy: you may cancel your order at any time before your order is shipped and up to 14 days after you receive your order. To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to do so by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or email). You may use the model cancellation form that appears at the end of these terms and conditions, but it is not obligatory. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired. Any items to be returned should be sent to Crown House Publishing Limited (address as above) within 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation of this order to us. Full refund or credit will be given and if you are in the UK we will even refund your postage. All you have to pay is the return postage. This policy does not apply to audiotapes, CDs, DVDs or computer software from which the wrapping has been removed. We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than –
- 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or
- (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. In the unlikely event that you have any complaints please contact us at the above address.
