  • YLG National Virtual Conference Exhibition 2021

    Online

The Youth Libraries Group National Conference will return virtually in November 2020

Taking place from 13th to 19th of September, wherever you are, the Representations of Place conference will explore landscape, identity and own voices, developing the opportunities we can offer children and young people to interact with the ever-changing world around them through literature and reading. Research will be presented by leading academics and a selection of exciting and innovative authors and illustrators will provide inspiration

The conference will extend across the whole week to avoid screen fatigue for our delegates and all sessions will be archived and will be available to view at your leisure after the conference has concluded. There will be an extensive Virtual Exhibition which will also be archived and accessible after the conference and a virtual goody bag for all delegates

The conference will also include our membership's celebration of our very own Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals and the presentation of our honorary memberships, the YLG Award and the YLG Publisher of the Year, making this an unmissable opportunity for all those interested in libraries and children's literature.

  • Inspiring Leaders Leadership Conference

St George's Park, Burton Upon Trent, Newborough Road, Needwood, Burton upon Trent, DE13 9PD

The Inspiring Leaders Leadership Conference is exclusively available to those within the Inspiring Leaders community, including the MATs and alliances that make up our partnership and our current and past participants. Bringing together this community provides a unique occasion to collaborate and share practice with like minded colleagues and to be inspired and reinvigorated as school leaders.

This two-day residential conference is now in its seventh year and is considered a key CPD, sharing and networking date in the diary for our school leaders.

In times of change, now more than ever it is essential that school leaders have a clear aims and philosophy, a vision for their schools and rise to the challenges our system presents. The Conference gives leaders a clearly defined space and time to think, discover, explore, share and rejuvenate with like minded people from across the region.

Through a programme of internationally recognised key notes, quality workshop leaders, specialist leaders of education and local best practice, we aim to support delegates to develop and clarify this vision.

Past keynote speakers have included included Sir John Jones, Steve Munby, Estelle Morris, James Kerr, Laura McInerley and Alex Quigley. In addition, the conference includes a range of workshops, a market place, holisitic head massage, graphic recorder and plenty of chance to share with colleagues. In the evening, participants have a chance to network and discuss in a less formal way with a three course meal, live band and dancing.
