Wonderful book and story, well written, very heartfelt and covers the atrocities of the holocaust and how the Jewish people were treated during the war. I read it first myself before giving it to my 10 year old granddaughter and decided she is not yet ready to read about them, although she is a mature reader and has read books way above her age range (she even explained Homers Odyssey to me!), she is also quite sensitive, so have decided to keep it for a couple of years until I feel she will be able deal with the issues raised. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but the subject matter did play on my mind, so feel I made the right decision about when she reads it.
