It was with a sense of anticipation that I opened Lynda Hudson`s new book, as I had found her book on Hypnotherapy for Children to be very instructive and useful. I was not disappointed! More Scripts and Strategies in Hypnotherapy is a treasure trove of good sense and well-informed ideas. As I teach a workshop on Hypnotic Language I particularly enjoyed the table of Hypnotic Language, with its `pick `n mix` selection of useful phrases and presuppositions.

I also liked the layout, with the marginal notes containing guidance or advice on the language being used. There are so many good scripts here, showing the apparently effortless use of metaphor, with pointers to variations, that it may not be useful to point to one particular script.

However, I particularly enjoyed the `Pass the parcel` script for pain management, with its childhood metaphor (hopefully a pre-pain period) and its suggestions for gradual, incremental change.
