Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is an increasingly popular approach to therapy. One of the main tenets of SFBT is The Miracle Question.

This book offers an in-depth look at how The Miracle Question works in many different areas of life. IT has useful exercises and questionnaires that help you get started and has separate chapters on how it works with marriage, parenting, habits/addictions and trauma so you can understand how the MQ works in various circumstances.

Whilst this book is easy to read and very interesting it is more of a collection of success stories from Dr Metcalf's own practice that a real “how-to' book for therapists.

From my experience of using the exercises in this book in my own practice I have found that using the MQ on it's own is not enough ” you would need to have a greater understanding of how to use the rest of the SFBT approach to gain any real benefit for your clients.
