Pupils at St. Francis Catholic School in Pembrokeshire have been busy with their literacy work and their prose is of such a high standard that they are showcasing their written pieces on their own website, which you can see for yourself here.
The pupils in the Ramsey Class (Dosbarth Ramsey) have been studying Great City by Harold Monro from Bob Cox's Opening Doors to Famous Poetry and Prose. The class imagined Milford at sunset and explored use of senses in poetry.
More pupils™ work has also been added to the growing collection of written work produced by school children who are following the passages and exercises related to the texts included in Bob Cox˜s Opening Doors books for ages 6-9 and 10-13.
The books put the focus on pupils producing quality writing “ developing their literacy skills and a love of reading in the process “ and all the evidence gathered on the featured pages seem to indicate that Bob™s strategies and stimulus texts are working!
The collection features written work produced by children, aged between 6 and 13, from various schools who are following the passages and exercises related to the texts included in these books on a dedicated web page on our site where you can view and/or download the works in pdf form and see which unit of the book they came from.
