World Values Day 2016

October 17, 2016

"Choose a value, act on that value, share it, pass it on."

It is World Values Day on Thursday, October 20th: an occasion and opportunity for all to think about our most deeply held values and to act on them. If we are aware to our values and put them into action each and every day, we can change our lives and change the world we live in.

Should you wish to celebrate World Values Day, we have two titles which may be of interest to you:

Dr Neil Hawkes’ From My Heart (£14.99) is a book focused on values-based education that demonstrates ways in which teachers, parents, pupils and indeed all of us can create happier and more productive lives by raising our self-awareness and self-confidence.

Julie Duckworth’s The Little Book of Values (£10.99) explores twenty-two values that can be taught through schools and indeed the whole community. The book will inspire you by using examples of where values are already being used by children and adults in schools, and share practical tools to stimulate discussion and philosophical debate.
